Description
Soleirolia soleirolii is native to the northern Mediterranean regions around Italy. Soleirolia soleirolii is commonly called Baby's Tears or Angel's Tears. The plant has tiny, round leaves cascading down slender, fragile stems. It grows in moist areas and has moss-like appearance but ins't a moss. This fast-growing evergreen has a low, spreading habit that spills beautifully over the sides of a container. It won't grow far though, because the creeping stems need to have contact with the soil. They grow well in shaded areas, protected from the sun. Baby's Tears are frost sensitive too. They can be easily divided and look great as a ground cover around other plants in the garden or pot them up.
