Description
The Peperomia caperata is native to Central and South America. Commonly called Pink Lady, has heart-shaped, deep rippled or corrugated leaves with splashes of pink, green and white. This flowering evergreen perennial can grow to approx 20cm tall. The flowers are inconsequential and the Pink Lady is grown for its beautiful leaves. The Pink Lady grows well in bright indirect light. Position your plant in an east or west facing window. They will even grow under fluorescent lights which also makes them great for offices or apartments too. Insufficient light will cause the growth to slow and direct sunlight will burn the leaves. They don't need a lot of water, allow the top 50% of soil to dry before you water, as they can store water in the thick leaves.
