Pteris cretica var.albo lineata (ribbon fern)

The Pteris cretica is native to Europe, Asian and Africa is commonly called Cretan brake or Ribbon Fern. The variegated variety albo lineata is used in gardens in the ground and as a potted plant, as a houseplant. It is also widely used brightening shade gardens. It thrives year-round outdoors in subtropical climates, they require protection for the frost, though the species is hardier and can be grown outdoors during the summer months in cold climates. Cut away the older, outer fronds of the Pteris if they become shabby-looking. There are generally new fronds ready to unfurl from the many growing points on the rhizome to take their places.
